The Vistelar methodology focuses first on “non-escalation” with foundational teaching elements grounded in empathy and trauma informed principles, putting patient care at the center to improve everyday interactions before they escalate. The training also focuses on mental and physical pre-encounter preparation steps that are proven to help reduce the opportunities for patient or staff harm during response to moments of escalation or aggression.
In addition, the course will provide information to make appropriate decisions regarding personal safety during an active shooter incident.Basic concepts include Run, Hide and Flight.
