The Vistelar methodology focuses first on “non-escalation” with foundational teaching elements grounded in empathy and trauma informed principles, putting patient care at the center to improve everyday interactions before they escalate. The training also focuses on mental and physical pre-encounter preparation steps that are proven to help reduce the opportunities for patient or staff harm during response to moments of escalation or aggression. This version focuses on the role of Healthcare Emergency Department Specialists and the types of interactions they encounter in their daily work.

Who should attend: Healthcare ED Specialists, Flex Officers and Supervisors.

Registrations must be submitted 1 week before class to ensure required workbooks are shipped to your work location in time for class. Links for the class will be set to you 1 week before class to access through Microsoft Teams.

This course is designed to align all staff that utilizes a computer or device for Incident Reporting with the National Security Services new standards and expectations. They will learn how to document events as incidents or activities, the new category classifications, proper report standards, navigation of the CORE system, and their role in incident management. Please use the employee’s email address to ensure they receive all communications related to their training session.

See below who needs to be registered for which training session. For questions, please find more information and points of contact at the Core Transition Page.

o   SOC team member and data-entry roles: must be registered for the Core Electronic Form session.

o   Trainer roles: can be scheduled for same class as Officers for now. Will be scheduled for Train-the-Trainer sessions in a date to be determined and coordinated by the national training team.

o   Managers, Assistant Managers, Supervisors: any roles that will be reviewing and approving incident reports must be registered for the Core Electronic Form class.

o   Officers and other roles: must be registered for the Core Electronic Form training session if they utilize a computer or device for Incident Reporting. Even if your Officers don’t currently produce incident reports, they must understand the categories and processes as part of operations. The only security staff members that can skip this training are roles that don’t play any role in incident management (example: most System Administrators). If your Officers are producing reports via paper form, please exit this registration process and find the Core Paper Form training session.
